Flash comp vs. muzzle brake.
Both options provide a Plan B compatible mounting interface. The practical difference is what the muzzle device is designed to do when the firearm is used without a suppressor: distort visible flash or redirect gas to help reduce recoil.

Choose a brake comp when
You prioritize gas redirection and recoil reduction during unsuppressed use and are prepared to time the device.

Either still requires a compatible Plan B suppressor mount plus verified depth, bore, caliber, alignment and operating limits.

All four Plan B muzzle devices are 1.75 inches long, machined in America from 4150 CMV steel and finished with QPQ nitride. The brake comps include a peel washer for timing. The flash comps require no timing.
How the suppressor mount affects the choice.
A compatible Plan B suppressor mount engages the mounting interface on either muzzle-device style. If the suppressor uses the common 1.375–24 HUB rear thread, a compatible HUB-to-Plan-B adapter may provide that mount. However, the final decision still depends on the suppressor’s blast-chamber clearance, mount dimensions, caliber, ammunition and manufacturer approval.
Do not choose a muzzle device based only on the suppressor connection. Decide which unsuppressed behavior you prefer, then verify that the complete barrel–muzzle-device–mount–suppressor combination is supported.

Redirecting gas can increase perceived blast and concussion around the shooter and nearby people. Evaluate the intended use and follow all hearing-protection guidance.
Does the Plan B Flash Comp need to be timed?
No. The Plan B Flash Comp product specifications state that timing is not required.
Can either style mount a suppressor?
